Mozzarella sticks are a loved snack among most people. This gluten free recipe is so easy to make now even those with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance can enjoy this ooey gooey treat once again.
Like most kids, I loved mozzarella sticks growing up, really what is not to love about some deep fried cheese?! Now I stare longingly when friends order the delicious treat, pining over that deliciousness. It had been over five years since I had a mozzarella stick when I realized I must make them for myself. I don’t know what I waited so long this recipe is so easy and so delicious!
What makes these mozzarella sticks extra delicious is the Better Batter Seasoned Flour. This flour is so flavorful you don’t need to add anything to it. There’s a touch a spice that compliments that fatty cheese perfectly. Seasoned flour, cheese sticks, eggs, and a pinch of salt once they’re cooked is all you need to make this delicious snack. I roll them in the season flour three times making them extra crispy and really locking in all the seasoning.
I like to cut my cheese sticks in half so they’re a nice two bite snack. That way I can eat more of them and not feel guilty, because that’s how it works right? Probably not, but I’ll keep with my logic. I also pan fry mine in just a touch of oil so they’re a bit less fatty than their deep fried counterparts.
This recipe could not be easier, start to finish these gluten free mozzarella sticks only take 15 minutes. That’s a lot quicker than going to buy them some where. Plus being home made there’s no worries for cross contamination in a restaurant fryer. I could go on about how delicious this recipe is but I think you just need to try it for yourself!
- 8 Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
- 1 Egg, Beaten
- 1½ Cups Better Batter Seasoned Flour
- Cut cheese sticks in half
- Roll in season flour
- Dip into egg
- Roll again in flour
- Dip again into the egg
- Roll on last time in the flour
- Heat about an inch of oil in a saute pan until it's about 350F (or bubbles when you add the cheese sticks)
- Fry about 2 minutes on each side
