There’s no arguing it, slow cookers make dinner time so much easier. Growing up I hated crock pot food, but now I can’t get enough of tender braised beefs. A meat that pulls apart with your fork on a pile of buttery mashed potatoes, it really doesn’t get much better than that! These sirloin tips with ranch mushrooms are also the perfect pair to some creamy polenta. You really can’t go wrong!


Just six ingredients and a slow cooker is all you need for this tasty braise. But, you can also make it in to the oven. For years I lived without a slow cooker (I now wonder how I functioned) and I often made this recipe in the oven. Both ways are tasty, but the slow cooker allows you to leave your house while your cooking, always a plus.

  • 1 Pound Sirloin Tips
  • 1 Pound Button Mushrooms
  • 1 Yellow Onion
  • 10 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Packet Ranch Seasoning
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  1. Lightly season the beef with salt and pepper
  2. Transfer to slow cooker
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix
  4. Cook on low for 6 hours, until fork tender
