When you’re gluten free whenever you see an allergy friendly bakery you need to try them. Depending on where you live there may not be a lot of options where you live. Lucky, there are so many small bakeries that will mail their products to you! Just because Annie May’s Sweet Cafe is in Kentucky doesn’t mean you should miss out on their tasty treats!

Annie May’s makes all their baked goods in house; from breads, to cinnamon rolls, to cookies, and whoopie pies. And they’re all gluten free! I was so happy when I received one of their sampler packs so I could try lots of their products at once. And as you may know about my lack of self control, I do mean all at once! Oops

The product I had to try first was the brownie. I love love love brownies. This one is everything a brownie should be decadent and perfectly fudgy. Even better? It’s got the crackly texture on the top. That balance of crunchy and fudgey is what makes for a perfect brownie. A warning you will need a glass of milk to wash down all the chocolate goodness.

Next I tried the cookies, unfortunately some of mine got broken in the mail, but that didn’t stop me from chowing down. The cookies were the perfect size, just for quickly satisfying a sweet tooth. My favorite was the oatmeal, chewy and delicious! But what was even better than the oatmeal cookie, the oatmeal cream pie. These were always my favorite growing up, and I haven’t had them in so long! They were everything I remembered and more. I love food that makes me feel like a kid again, and these ones definitely did!

The one product I didn’t care for was the toaster treat. I thought it looked beautiful, but tasted a little dry. I should be fair and say that I always disliked toaster strudels and was never a big pop tart fan, so I just don’t think these are up my ally.

I think my favorite item in the box was definitely the whoopie pies. I received the chocolate ones with cream fillings, and boy did they put me in my happy place. They were perfectly chocolately with that sugary filling, yum! I will say don’t try to eat them without a napkin on a white couch because you will get chocolate on the couch. Oh, did you already have that level of intelligence, well then you’re doing better than me!

Over all I would definitely recommend trying Annie May’s Sweet Cafe. Got a party and need a box of cookies, why not order a box of oatmeal cream pies! But don’t take me word for it. Order a sample box!
