Buffalo chicken is a classic when it comes to snack food. But this Healthy Buffalo Chicken is so much lighter than the traditional version. Using Greek yogurt instead of mayo this healthy recipe will change the way to buffalo chicken.
I may not be a big football fan, or really any sort of sports fan; but, any occasion that promotes snacking I’m okay with! I was not planning on posting a buffalo chicken recipe, I wanted to make some for the big day and went to Pinterest to find a recipe and couldn’t find any I liked. So, I decided to make a recipe and share it!
The internet is filled with buffalo chicken recipes, almost all of which start with canned chicken… no thanks, I want some real chicken breast in mine. While I always love when other people make buffalo chicken dip seeing ingredients like mayo was starting to make me change my mind about wanting some. I lighten mine up with a bit of Greek yogurt, still giving it that creamy texture but without the grossness that is mayo.
Because I was starting with raw chicken, I used less hot sauce than most recipes. This is because the spice cooks into the chicken; what it lacks in the red color it makes up for in delicious flavor. I’ve used this recipe to fill potato skins, make nachos, or just dip carrots into it! It’s the perfect Superbowl recipe.

- 2 Chicken Breasts
- 1 Tbsp Minced Onion
- 1 Clove Minced Garlic
- ¼ Cup Tabasco Sauce
- 1 Teaspoon Ranch Powder
- ¼ Cup Greek Yogurt
- ½ Cup Crumbed Blue Cheese
- Combine chicken, onion, garlic, Tabasco, and ranch in slow cooker
- Cook on low about 3-4 hours, until chicken is cooked
- Drain all liquid out of slow cooker
- Shred the meat using two forks
- Add remaining ingredients, stir to combine
- Cook on low for another 15 minutes
