Day 9 was definitely better than day 8, which is great because I couldn’t have handled another day 8. I am definitely experiencing more energy, but all this energy combined with a lack of wine and I am definitely having trouble sleeping. I am hoping this phase of my whole30 will pass, I find when I am tired my body associates that with being hungry. And by hungry, I mean I need ice cream. But I am still holding strong to my whole30, I even frosted a birthday cake without eating any frosting. I should get a trophy for that!
I started my day with some banana and almond butter. While normally I’m a peanut butter gal, not being able to eat it definitely has me enjoying almond butter a lot more. Hopefully this is a habit that will stick with me after my whole30.
I did not really think clearly when I did my prep cooking this weekend. So this is going to be the week of soups, ground beef, and green beans. Oh well! For my first lunch I had a chilled curry-cauliflower soup with a hard boiled egg. It was so good, nothing warms you up like curry on a cold day.
Then around 2pm I had even more soup, this time tomato soup with some small paleo meatballs. This was delicious! This may be my new go to instead of spaghetti and meatballs. It still had all those comforting flavors but was not nearly as heavy.
For afternoon snacks I had a clementine and some toasted macadamia nuts, my new favorite nuts. I was lucky enough to come home to a delicious dinner of pork chops and green beans with caramelized onions. It was so good I had cleaned my plate before I realized I forgot to take my daily picture, oh well!
I finished my night with a dried date for a pop of sweetness. And while I tried to go to bed early, I tossed and turned all night and couldn’t sleep. I think part of this is being on my computer until right before bed. I’m going to try to start slowing shutting my brain off before bed that way I don’t go straight from work to bed. Overall definitely a good whole30 day, can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
