These Banana Peanut Butter blossoms are a fun spin on a tradition peanut butter blossom. Made with no gluten or refined sugar they’re a healthier way to get that cookie fix!

Banana Peanut Butter BlossomsChristmas eve is here and I am finally done with holiday baking. I saved the best for last! Peanut Butter Blossoms are always a crowd favorite. Really these cookies are something that is made in my house all year, but this week I think holds the record for making the most peanut butter blossoms.

There recipe is derived from a recipe my boyfriend’s soon to be sister-in-law often makes. It’s awesome having family bring you gluten free baked goods on almost a weekly basis. Her base recipe is peanut butter, brown sugar, eggs, and baking soda. Easy peasy! However, my next door neighbor decided she wanted to have a baking day and make these cookies vegan. Why not? We just substituted the eggs for ripe banana; the results, amazing! While I’m not vegan I definitely love these peanut butter banana cookies!


I decided to then take it a step healthier, since bananas offer such a natural sweetness I dialed back the amount of the sugar these cookies and switched out the brown sugar for some coconut palm sugar. I now had a delicious cookie dough that I really didn’t have to feel that guilty eating. However I then decided to roll them in white sugar and add Hershey kisses making them no longer free of refined sugar or vegan but it’s Christmas and they’re delicious. I think Santa will love them!

This is such an easy recipe and I always have all the ingredients on hand. Making it a perfect plan B dessert when you’re having company and the new gluten free cake recipe you tried in a disaster. Trust me, been there! You just need an a few minutes and you can whip up these delicious cookies!

1 Ripe Banana 2 Cups Peanut Butter 1½ Cups Coconut Palm Sugar 2 Teaspoon Baking Soda 3 Tablespoons White Sugar 24 Hershey Kisses
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 2 Cups Peanut Butter
  • 1½ Cups Coconut Palm Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 3 Tablespoons White Sugar
  • 24 Hershey Kisses
  1. Mash banana well using mixer
  2. Add peanut butter, coconut palm sugar, and baking soda
  3. Mix until forms a wet dough
  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes
  5. Roll into golf ball size balls then roll in white sugar
  6. Bake 350F 8-12 Minutes
  7. Top with Hersey Kisses while warm
