Garbanzo Bean Brownies

These Garbanzo Bean Brownies are protein loaded chocolaty treat. So fudgy and delicious that no one will guess that they’re gluten free and made with beans.

Many years ago when I was a senior in high school I did a project focusing on the gluten free diet. Little did I know that it would become such a huge part of my life. Part of my senior project was spending time testing and developing gluten free recipes. This brownie recipe is actually the first gluten free recipe that I ever made!

The base of this recipe is garbanzo beans which helps provide structure to the brownie as well as some health benefits. Garbanzo beans are filled with protein, zinc, fiber, and vitamin B6; so, you don’t even have to feel guilty when you eat to many of these. Because let’s face it eating one brownie is probably not possible. In the words of Judith Viorst “Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands – and then eat just one of the pieces.” With these brownies the only strength you’ll have to deploy is waiting for them to cool down before diving in!
